JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Review all paints and coating specification, manufacturing product data sheet, painting crew approval, equipment calibration certificates, safety standards an d

other paints and coated related documents.

Check all inspection equipment, abrasive, blasting equipment all properly

tagged prior to commencement of the paint/ coating activities

Monitor grit blasting activities to comply with require standards

Conduct surface profile measurement with press-0-film paper

Ensure surface cleanness prior to coating application(Primer/ top coat)

Monitor and check wet film and dry film thickness requirement as per standards

Inspect coating for any paint defects for touch up repair

Check daily inspection report completed by the true supervisor

Responsible for inspection works for sand blasting and painting of weld head / tie and spools, plate forms, gin poles, pipe supports, application of heat shrink sleeves

and other miscellaneous painting works

Coordinate the assignments of workers based on the daily painting requirement

Ensure the use of correct blasting and painting materials as per the

requirement of construction drawings and painting data sheet

Issue NCR for violation and submit it to the QA/QC department

Perform holiday testing for underground piping to ensure that all coating defect

are repair prior to back filling

Monitoring of Paint materials storage and preserve in proper storage

container as per product specification

Handling and mixing paint for painter assign below water line, usually paint

use as anti corrosive and boot topping paint and primers.

After receipt of material at site, check for transit damage batch number, purchasing order and manufacturing date, record and submit for approval buy ship owner or

authorize representative

Monitoring weather conditions: Relative Humidity & Dew Point calculation.

All steel structure are duly recorded before blasting works is started. We

record spool numbers and paint specs plus color code.

Area of steel structure shall be washed with specified product to remove dust,

grease or oil then thoroughly washed with fresh water.

After dry up, the whole area of blasted surface is visually inspected with surface profile comparator for the acceptance which is measured with spring loaded micrometer and testex tape. The chlorine content is checked and area cleaned for

painting.

Preparing work output by reconciling total hours manpower output against sandblasting / painted areas and amount of material used which submitted to

QC daily.

Development of painting schemes as per Customers consultant specification.

Different types of Quality checks for the Coating as per ASTM codes practices &

NACE, SSPC, standard.

Testing of raw material as per ASME section 2 IS Standards, JIS-EN & ISO Standards.

Designed the THERMAX painting manual.

Designed Painting scheme for all standards & Non standards products of thermax.

Inspection of coating and painting of pipe-lines, equipment’s, structures,

vessels and underground pipelines.

Inspection of blasting equipment and blasting abrasives.

Monitoring environment condition before and during blasting and painting to

comply with specification.

Verifications of paint system by using standards drawings & specification

Inspection of surface preparation prior to paint application on pipe-lines,

equipment’s, structure, vessels and underground pipelines.

Ensure the mixing of paints and make sure the correct materials are used as per

specification and standards.

Organizing and conducting tests such as adhesion test chloride contamination

test, holiday test etc, to make sure the quality measures.

Invite and coordinate with the client representatives on each stage of process.

Review scope of work of all related coating activities as per project quality plan.

Review and verify all submittal / products approval required as per specification.

Revamping of the specification.

Overall supervision for the application of Fire proofing & protective coating for

offshore platform and process vessels

Set up of Lab for physical and chemical tests involved in Quality procedures for

pipe coating plant.

Both contractor use internal crawler camera, computer aided camera, remote

control blasting machine and spindle coating applicator.

Corrosion study, paint technologies, surface preparation techniques, coating

defects, Painting safety regulations.

Responsible for Inspection works for sand blasting and fitting of weld head / Tie- in spools, Plate forms, Gin poles, Pipe supports, Application of heat shrink

sleeves and other miscellaneous painting works.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Painting / coating inspection of steel structural works, pipeline, pressure vessels, new building.

Responsible for stage wise painting / coating inspection.

Undertake QC painting / coating activities in the work place for daily basis.

Monitor weather condition for surface preparation and painting / coating application.

Prepare “inspection & test plan” (ITP) for specific project / company requirements/surface

Execute Painting / coating inspection work as per company / project inspection test plan.

To check and monitor all painting / coating related works and ensure all final products Meet

in accordance with company procedure, client requirement and international codes.

Responsible for incoming coating / painting material inspection and has to ensure whether these

materials suits to meets the requirements of project specifications.

Prepare all necessary QA / QC painting / coating documents and handed over to clients review.

To undertake test qualifications for spray painters, brush painter’s closed blasters & abrasive

blasters.
