WORK EXPERIENCE

Mechanical Engineer: Cummins Inc, UK.

September 2014-August 2016-: Joined the global company, responsible for the design and manufacture of diesel engines and emissions related products for current and new customer applications.

Responsibilities:

Certified maintenance and basic calibration (Engine Control module & Aftertreatment Control module) experience with ISB4.5 & 6.7 (Euro V & Euro VI) diesel engines inclusive of Electrical and Mechanical systems.

Software controls- Create electrical/mechanical system test benches to analyze performance, conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting for NOx Sensors, Differential Pressure Sensors, Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors, Aftertreatment Control Module and Engine Control Module in compliance with J1939 requirements for communication and diagnostics.

Program and calibrate data acquisition modules for vibration data extraction and post-analysis.

Building rapport with customers in order to guide research, testing, data analysis and correction proposal initiatives for new, current and re-designed Engine and Aftertreatment components.

Conduct 7-Step Product Problem solving projects with Product Engineering team, utilising tools such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & FMEA in order to resolve engine or aftertreatment issues arising from fault codes for internal and external customers.

Project Lead for Cummins Emissions Solutions STEM events.

Create VBA Macro and MATLAB scripts for both Product and Customer Engineering department to eliminate manual data processes on frequent tasks.

Assist in conducting FEA and CFD analysis on Engine and Aftertreatment mechanical components in order to generate manufacturing cost reduction ideas.

DFMEA to identify risks and evaluate appropriate engineering approach.

Develop Installation Quality Assurance (IQA) procedures and Application Engineering Bulletins (AEB’s) for Value Package Introduction (VPI), to ensure components and subcomponents are installed accurately, safely and within design specification to exceed customer expectations for medium-heavy duty engine systems.

Participated in a range of Six Sigma projects as a core team member, with working knowledge of Six Sigma initiatives.

Student Manufacturing Engineer: Aircelle Ltd (SAFRAN Group), Burnley, UK

June 2012-Sept 2012: Assigned to the Manufacturing Department for the Rolls Royce Trent 700 and 900 engine composite (Carbon Fibre) nacelle manufacture, assembly and testing. Heavily utilised Six Sigma- type tools to improve product quality.

Responsibilities:

Hands on nacelle manufacturing within clean room.

Composite Product testing utilising destructive and non-destructive testing methods.

Conducted nacelle functionality tests for thrust reversers.

Manufacturing Process Improvement through reviewing error records of past interchangeability inspection checks (ICY) and identifying key areas of improvement.

Implement a streamlined production process by developing modified kit and fire blanket trollies. The execution of the new process reduced production time by 1000 hours/year to pass Rolls Royce audit.

April 2015:- Received recognition award from Cummins General Manager and Vice-President for instrumental role.

For leading a team of graduate engineers to create a user interactive game for the Big Bang 2015 STEM national event.

The goal of the game was to teach 5-18 year olds Cummins products and technology, hence promoting the company

October 2013: - Nominated by peers and lecturers to manage a team of 7 to deliver creative solution to wildlife tracking in remote regions of Madagascar.

-Aimed to aid scientific research utilizing autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology.

-Led the team to secure £2000 funding from a preliminary design review attended by members of BAE and Manchester Life Sciences.

November 2008:- Featured in the voice newspaper(Britain's favorite black newspaper) for Outstanding academic achievement.

September 2008: - Award received at Imperial College London for "Outstanding achievement on Aerospace Experiments and written Projects

June 2008:- Awarded the Nuffield Engineering bursary
