Worked with the Cisco team to implement proper Layer 2 and layer 3 switching and routing configurations for 1000 4006/6500/3500/2900 switches and 500- 2500/2600/2800 3600 routers. These routers and switches utilized protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VTP, VLAN’s, RSTP and special port and subnet configurations. Lead RCDD for network trouble call system regarding adds, moves and changes. I assigned service requests and dispatched 30 BICSI certified cable technicians this involved monitoring all projects, noting scopes of work, maintaining payroll for contractors, checked cost per hours worked and confirmed quality of work. Designed the Cabletron-FDDI based system to adhere to nuclear MIL spec requirements. Designed a Packard Hughes mm fiber optic 4-pin multi keyed connector unique to this project. Acted as a team leader/subject matter expert and naval trainer for the ATWCS system. I designed, installed and trained naval personnel at Dam Neck, Dalgrine, Portsmouth, BIW Bath Maine, Charleston, Jacksonville, Philadelphia navel test site, Valley Forge Martin Marietta, Ingalls ship building Pascagoula, MS, San Diego, Long Beach, Pearl Harbor, Bremerton/Keyport NUWC and Port Hueneme NSWC. As a computer systems network analyst my primary duty was to design and implement a 21,000 node Local Area Network (LAN). After the design phase I installed the core, distribution and access Layer 1, 2 and 3 Hubs, Switches Routers, Bridges and repeaters. I also designed and implemented the entire 10 mile cable plant with point to point single mode, multimode fiber optic and copper backbone connections for a 27 building campus. Designed all Copper voice, data and WAN cabling. Designed and installed the NSWC/Cruise Weapons data centers and test sites. All telecommunications rooms entrance facilities and equipment rooms followed the same basic design per my project plans. I also acted as a team leader for installation and maintenance teams resolve network service calls.
