UGII v18/NX3 Liaised w/ R&D, purchasing and Alachua assembly plant in the design and release of 6 Projects. Extensively used NX3 sketcher especially in the modeling of multiple bend pipes both hydraulic and handrail applications and intricate burnout shapes and sprockets, Teamcenter/IMAN and both sheet metal applets. Developed a process to generate the lattice of the mast using math constraints and sketch constraints. This resulted in a considerable time savings and increased accuracy. 7/2002-1/2003 Seminole Machine & Welding

Investigations of field fit up issues, electronic checking of details and E-plans, Re-checking details that were insufficiently done. The result of the last was a call to the management that there were “no! problems on this floor’s fit-up”

1/92 - 12/2000 OAKLAND COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE, Michigan Adjunct Teacher - Computer Aided Design

Instructor for Unigraphics 15

4/98 -01/01 Cared for terminally ill wife.

1984 - 1998 GM TRUCK ENGINEERING, Pontiac, Michigan Product Development Center

Sr. Designer (Contract)

All aspects of Medium Truck chassis design, including suspensions as well as some Body in White. Utilized Manual, CADAM and Unigraphics II. Comprehensive understanding of the releasing process. Involved in electronic database management, electronic checking.

Major projects:

World Truck design project.

The school bus (B600) variant

Automatic transmission cooling lines

Involvement in ISO standards.

P300 design Team

Both maintenance and forward model year design

Fuel lines installation for a new engine. Assignment to liaise with the releasing specifications group and engineering department to fix an error exposed in the next years product release. De facto group leader after other personnel reassignments.

S700 School bus program

Blank sheet of paper. This program gave me my greatest challenge and responsibility. Over the course of the program I did manual designs and was trained on CADAM. Then shifted exclusively to CAD. Frame and cross

members. Rear axle and suspension studies, brake lines, fuel tank installation and impact protector. Front suspension and Ackerman study, Exhaust installation, engine packaging and the driver’s island environment. The Island studies involved SAE standards some ISO standards and using “Oscar” for steering column and pedal/seat relationship. The D/I also required liaising with the body group and the whole program involved liaising with Mock- up. Concurrently with my design duties: My GM Leader tasked me with the responsibility of being his data base manager. The duties entailed verification that the proper paper trail existed and that the electronic data being filed was according to the electronic drafting guidelines and GM Data creation standards were fulfilled. I was de facto team leader and thereby assigned jobs and guidance where needed. He also relied on me to provide oversight on the

“RPO” (regular production options) code sequences. GMT530 C5 C6 C7 B6 P5 S7 Medium duty trucks advanced design team

More frames and cross member design. More exhausts then a shift to the brake line design team. Air Brake tubing. With 3 models and approx 50 wheelbase variants this was a challenge to remember what RPO went with what component and another Driver’s Island project. Promoted to Design Group Leader in April 1988. Had an assignment to convert the AM General HMMWV to JSDF specifications with the attendant familiarization of JPII standards. Body in White Reassigned to the P300 group.

Began using Unigraphics there exclusively. Modeled the I- beam front suspension for design studies for a Class A motor home, modeled the engine cooling system and

surfaced a fan shroud.

GMT 600 design team

Radiator fan shrouds and engine cooling studies.

Accomplishments: Patent Application Number G-8037, Fast Assembly Fittings.
