Masters Project:
A Peculiar Case of Hemoptysis: Microscopic Polyangiitis Secondary to Underlying Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. In addition to research of this rare vasculitis, I looked further into the socioeconomic effects that result from having a severe autoimmune condition, including transportation, medication costs, familial circumstances, frequent hospitalizations, employment, etc. Updated and more efficient forms of treatment were also investigated. This was presented at a Master’s Seminar held at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Information was shared with other healthcare providers that may carry the information on to help their own patients that may suffer from an autoimmune condition and the socioeconomic impact that accompanies it.
