Responsibilities and day-to-day tasks:

In charge of releasing of all parts of a large internal suite of apps in all lifecycle environments (INTEGRATION, QA, UAT). Maintain above 200 instances of software of various size and complexity in QA environments along with keeping up to date septuplet of db clones for each environment.

Release process includes building, using Jenkins CI build systems and deploying java apps on Linux VMs as well as .Net apps on Windows VMs and applying database changes using both SQL Plus command line and MS SQL Server Management Studio. Automated monitoring server logs for errors. Mentor QA team members to help automating SOAP and RESTful services testing using soapUI PRO automation tool. Day to day routine includes building/deploying/configuring/testing JAVA & .Net apps with Oracle 10g and MS SQL database on the back end. I was a lead on multiple releases of projects with 5-6 QA engineers involved in testing. Coordinated and documented Software Release Orders for all of released projects which included step-by-step documentation of the process. I came up with full automation plan for continuous integration in DEV environment which is currently in place Estimated QA time/resources and delivery time frame working closely with Development and PMO members of the projects. Worked with architect/dev/release teams to come up with minute-by-minute (2 day long) deployment document of projects being delivered.

• Lead SQA engineer. Key player in day to day QA activities, organizing efforts and working on processes to contribute in the most efficient way to company’s agile approach. Created both data driven and framework based automated tests using open source Selenium tool for an internal web based CRM software. Using Selenium - PHP automation test cases. Utilized Selenium Grid to run tests in parallel on multiple environments. Introduced QA methodology and processes to be used and followed by all participants of SDLC. Extensively worked with business to create test plan and test cases for the outgoing system. Was recognized, along with my QA peers, for dramatically bringing down the number of issues introduced in production and taking the company releases to the next level of quality in a very short time.

• Automation SQA engineer. Maintained automation for voice recognition software and various SDKs based on it using XML scenario files. Created shell scripts for QA team to make testing more efficient and error proof. Mentored junior QA team members on various QA assignments.

• Lead engineer on corporate web site automation. Using Selenium suite of tools (IDE, RC and Grid) designed general approach and majority of the framework which was used in all future test case development. After that was supervising and assigning automation tasks to junior specialists.

• Projects worked on: Vlingo Voice for Blackberry, Blackberry textbox SDK, J2ME SDK, Vlingo corporate website. QA lead on Vlingo for iPhone project (voted by iPhone team to be the best free app to come out in November 2008 QA lead on Vlingo for Samsung Jack Windows Mobile OS 6.5 and HTC devices. Also was involved in Vlingo for Nokia project (released for Nokia N97 & Nokia E72)

• Build engineer: Was responsible for all client side builds for all Vlingo clients. Using Continuous Integration Cruise Control supported/configured both QA and Production servers to ensure successful execution and timely delivery. Worked with development to apply/remove changes as was necessary.

• Automation QA engineer. Using Segue Silk Test 7.1 created framework based on which developed automated test cases for repetitive parts of .NET based applications.
