This division specializes in printing, finishing and distributing weekly, biweekly & monthly magazines and catalogs plus special interest business and consumer publication. The market is shrinking, prompting consolidation across similar Quad/Graphics divisions and a workforce reduction. Machine Set-Up Operator; Gatherer-Trimmers

Key and contributing leader, operator and member of the production team with key responsibilities to set up and operate complex, high-speed gathering / trimming / folding / inserting finishing and material-handling equipment – consistently achieving excellent safety and production-run records.

Set up, troubleshoot, maintain (Preventative Maintenance)- ensuring safety and efficiency – producing date-sensitive, national, regional and individually targeted publications for demanding and impatient customers.

Continuously monitor, measure, analyze and report safety, quality, efficiency and production – ensuring that critical quality / production / shipping deadlines are met.

Support and assist Customers and Customer Service Representatives / Account Managers with technical issues and recommendations and foster positive customer relationships.

Process: Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Process Improvement applications (Kaizen) Compliance: Labor Law, HR Policy and Code of Business Conduct & Ethics compliance training including Workplace Harassment & Substance Abuse Awareness & Prevention, Diversity, etc. Safety & Environmental: Safety (OSHA Compliance) and Hazardous Materials (MSDS & HAZMAT) training plus Hearing Conservation, Machine Guarding and Pedestrian Safety. Lock-Out / Tag-Out, Fire Prevention, Safety & Extinguishers and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and "Move Smart" ergonomics plus Material Handling equipment including Forklifts and Pallet Jacks.
