Local Performance and Monitoring Agent

Customer Interaction Center (CIC)

Calls from external customers requesting technical assistance for any Ericsson telephony equipment installed in the US and Canada (excluding mobile phones)

Local Performance and Monitoring Agent from 8:00pm until 8:00am each day.

When a call was received, the monitoring agent will collect customer information and create a Customer Service Request (CSR) in an SAP based ticketing system called SMS, and utilize the customer's input to establish the priority of the issue.

Traffic impacting events

o(Emergency) are immediately routed to the next level of support according to a pre-defined process.

oFor all other priorities (Low, Medium, High), the monitoring agent will collect key information and a search in a known solutions database named PRIMUS, then dispatch the case to the appropriate Customer Network Support (CNS) team for analysis.

Usecase Development/Maintenance

Customer issues identified through the CIC/CSR process, Emergency Handling, and other support channels are utilized to build "usecases" for proactive support.

A usecase is a PERL script designed to collect specific information from the Ericsson equipment, compare the resulting data against predefine criteria, and issue an observation report to proactive support's centralized monitoring point.

The scripts may be loaded and/or executed from a variety of platforms

oSONAR/ITK - an Ericsson trace server installed in the UMTS network
