Local Performance and Monitoring Agent from 8:00pm until 8:00am each day.

When a call was received, the monitoring agent will collect customer information and create a Customer Service Request (CSR) in an SAP based ticketing system called SMS, and utilize the customer's input to establish the priority of the issue.

Traffic impacting events

o(Emergency) are immediately routed to the next level of support according to a pre-defined process.

Usecase Development/Maintenance

Customer issues identified through the CIC/CSR process, Emergency Handling, and other support channels are utilized to build "usecases" for proactive support.

A usecase is a PERL script designed to collect specific information from the Ericsson equipment, compare the resulting data against predefine criteria, and issue an observation report to proactive support's centralized monitoring point.

The scripts may be loaded and/or executed from a variety of platforms

oNextNine - a commercial 3rd party application

oSONAR/ITK - an Ericsson trace server installed in the UMTS network
