Dear Sir or Madame:

With the enclosed resume, I would like to make you aware of my desire to explore employment as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Currently, I am seeking a suitable opening with opportunities for growth, where I can implement my knowledge and experience and develop as a professional. I hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Rutgers University.

As you will see, I offer experience as a FNP and am known for my compassionate style when dealing with patients and their families. Versatility is a positive component in my life which allows me the opportunity to have a mixed background experience as a FNP. As a healthcare provider, I work independently in college health care services and have performed in-home wellness health assessments. Provided services in urgent care centers affiliated with Jersey City Medical Center and was granted privileges in the Department of Medicine as part of the Allied Health Professional Staff Membership. I offer experience in a pediatric outpatient setting as well as a family practice/urgent care outpatient setting. During that time, I managed the two offices independently as the covering nurse practitioner as a locum tenens. I have experience in a corporate setting providing skin cancer assessments via locum tenens. I provided health care services in an urgent care, occupational health and family practice in an office based setting while rotating among three offices for seven and a half months. Also, I offer experience as a FNP in the areas of oncology, hematology and internal medicine in an office based and hospital based setting through an agency as a locum tenens for three months. My duties have ranged from performing comprehensive health assessments, screening to promote wellness and prevent illness, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis, prescribing pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments in collaboration with a physician partner, managing primary care, documenting using ICD coding, and following up with patients. I am an exceptionally diligent worker who is dedicated to refining my skills and abilities to the highest level. You will find me to be a quick learner and eager to initiate self-directed work.

My broad background in healthcare related employment include an extensive history as a Adjunct Clinical Skills Nursing Lab Instructor, Adjunct Nursing Instructor, Float Staff Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care facility, an agency RN in long term care and sub-acute care facilities which has certainly equipped me with the necessary hands on tools as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I offer a solid background of experience as a nursing professional who has often been called on to instruct, educate and teach. I feel that my versatile experience, education, strong organizational skills and communication skills will make me a valuable addition to your organization.

If you can use an articulate Family Nurse Practitioner who is adaptable, dedicated and willing to work hard to achieve success, I hope you will contact me to suggest a time when we might meet to discuss your needs. I can assure you in advance that I could rapidly become an asset to your organization. Thank you for your time and consideration in advance.

Sincerely,

Uva Drake-Ivey, MSN, RN, APN, C
