I coordinated the patients care between the radiation oncologist and the radiologist to ensure a smooth transition of care. I accompanied the patient to the selected internal treatment and documented any problems with the procedure, such as radiation leaks, deficiencies with the devices and the amount of time needed to complete the procedure. I solved or found solutions to problems by using the expertise of other professionals in the SIRT arena.

I screened patients to ensure they were good candidates for proton therapy, them assigned doctors depending on where the cancer was located. I contacted the patients, scheduled the appointment and answered questions within the realm of my knowledge without violating HIPPA. If I didn’t know the answer I researched and asked nursed or doctors then informed the patient within 24 hours. I live “patients first.”
