Seeking employment as Certified Medical Assistant in a clinic/office that is seeking exceptionally talented professionals with a strong ability to perform both administrative front office functions and medical assistant duties. I have training in both positions in the clinical setting, ability tp adapt quickly to change and one of my strongest qualities is being able to learn at a quick pace. Responsible for calling patients with their lab results and any medication or therapy changes. Complete prescription prior authorizations as needed. The best part of this job would be assisting the doctor with minor procedures sutures, I&D of abscess, and skin tag removals to name a few. We as a team are responsible for making sure all the rooms are clean and stalked. I am one who will always do my best to make sure daily tasks are done each. Autoclaving, stocking rooms, keep monthly log of meds and expirations, put together well child packets once a week as needed. CMA

With the changes going on at this office during the time I started I was then moved to a back office desk position where I took on tasks such as medication and procedure prior authorizations, lab call backs, prescription refills, keeping up with PKU results and faxing them monthly to the state, answering and taking phone messages from labs, patients, other doctors office and pharmacies and sending the messages to the correct provider(s). Texas HB 300 Training through Stericycle

Texas HB 300 (Texas House Bill 300) was a bill passed and signed by Texas Governor Rick Perry in June of 2011. The bill places stricter requirements on patient health privacy than those required by HIPAA and also expands the definition of covered entities to include those that come into possession of, obtain, assemble, collect, analyze, evaluate, store, or transmit protected health information. Texas HB 300 becomes effective September 1, 2012 and requires that employees be trained on it in addition to HIPAA.
