Duties included, but not limited to, taking orders for fuel deliveries in both the Baltimore and Norfolk harbors, processing and assigning said deliveries to both tug and barge crews. Coordinating equipment loading at specific oil terminals, working with ships agents to ensure on time deliveries, and to ensure all proper coast guard rules and regulations were adhered to. Data entry on spread sheets for completed jobs, to ensure proper tracking and billing.

Plant Dispatcher, The Hess Corporation, Curtis Bay, MD.

February, 2005 – September, 2012

Report directly to both plant supervisors and indirectly to plant superintendent. Facility provides petroleum products, including: gasoline, home-heating oil and heavy-industrial fuels. Facility includes docks for ships and barges as well as bays, where trucks load or unload products.

Entrusted with the loading and unloading of all ships, barges and trucks using this plant.

For ships and barges arriving at facility dock, order employees to begin the loading or unloading. Coordinate communications between these vessels and the facility.

For truck deliveries, assign offloading area and assign employee to monitor the delivery. Assure steady traffic flow through 13 truck-loading bays. Do so by enforcing loading procedures.

Assist any drivers with mechanical or technical difficulties encountered during loading. Track firm's orders to assure correct product being provided. Also, assure on-time deliveries. Enforce safety rules during loading. Document infractions.

Serve as off-shift supervisor of up to six employees when management absent. Oversee drivers with trucking companies firm uses to fulfill customer orders. Handle 25 - 200 orders daily, depending on the season.

Direct union work force of up to six, performing such duties as maintaining racks for loading products into trucks. Coordinate workforce of up to six during ship-or-barge loading and unloading.

Enter customer data on spreadsheets, including: product specification, customer-reference numbers, billing details and delivery history. Serve on safety committee. Make hazard awareness observations.

February, 2004 - February, 2005

Reported to Shift Supervisor. Advanced to a Lead Operator after approximately four months. With another operator, oversaw up to 15 batch makers per shift. Delegated to help out others on mix stations if encountering trouble or falling behind.

Facility produced fruit-and-meat flavors used as a part of customer products, including: Coca Cola, Kraft, Kellogg and others in the food-and-drink industry.

Entrusted with producing factory's product in liquid-and-powder forms. Received ingredient "batch card" from supervisor. Obtained ingredients from warehouse. Mixed ingredients to create flavor. If flavor was kosher, worked with the onsite rabbi to meet all Jewish requirements.

Ran mix tanks combining all powder-and-liquid components of a batch before quality-control testing and finish-product packaging. Used spray dryers when product packaged as powder.

Also, entrusted with testing product to assure it met quality standards. This included: PH testing, color-and-clarity checks, viscosity readings and taste testing. Entered laboratory results for completed batches on computer spreadsheets.

As safety-team member, assured workers: wore personal-protective equipment, followed established batch-making procedures and kept work area clean and organized. Accounted for employee movements during evacuations.

As T DC panel-board operator, started batches, ran sample times and did result entries. Interpreted computer coding when batches failed to start or advance. Coordinated work load of two outside operators. Finished product, packaged it and directed pickup.

Monitored several tanks of raw material and discharge rates so to not overfill or empty process tanks. Timed finished product so storage tanks did not reach capacity.

As outside operator, processed samples. Packaged finished product. Troubleshot problems. Maintained equipment. Made safety-related observations. Performed fire watch on any: welding, burning or similar hazards.
