site surveys for pending projects from catwalk/balustrade to access bridges & support beams as well as

fabrication & site erecting, breakdown of drawings for material order, rake & shoring preventing deep

excavation subsidence & fabrication/welding maintenance on various excavation machinery as reqd.,

welding of rebar frames for large scale concrete pours. Instruct junior members of staff as to the correct

procedure to follow when marking holes for repetitive plate/beam work to be drilled with magnetic drill or an

Iron worker, I was also the safety representative within this company. A lot of MCR staff were of Polish origin,

sometimes practical demonstrations in various aspects of steel fabrication were required to relay a point

across to staff.

MADFABS Aug'01 to Sept'05

General & Structural Fabrication foreman, taking site surveys prior to initial planning/draughting & fabrication

of structure, use forklift to off-load & load steel & completed structure respectively for delivery to sites across

Ireland. Over-see site installation often involving banking cranes & use of man-baskets to access the

welding/bolting of the job in hand, this is where my experience of banking cranes would be invaluable, some

draughting work both CAD & board were often used in the initial stages of planning for the job.

As site foreman decipher drawings for allocation of fabricated structures on site to designated area for

installation/erecting, slinging/banking experience of cranes both tower & mobile was invaluable, as well as

being the safety rep on site I also took site measurement/survey & relayed it back to the office for use by

draughtsman.

Workshop fabrication of general structure, using gantry crane/forklift to turn/move beams & structures

around the workshop or load trucks for delivery to site. On-site installation utilising tower/mobile cranes &

As Production manager I took dimensions of existing retail units & liaising with customers designed a retail

unit to comply with their requirements. The design integrated the use of AutoCAD & 3D studio Viz to achieve

the desired units to comply with the customers request .The most notable project undertaken being the

design & project management of the Guinness Storehouse retail area in Dublin.

Steel Fabrication Apprentice trained in all aspects of steel fabrication/welding, use related machinery (iron

worker, guillotine, break-press & gantry cranes) as well as drawing office experience. Repair of crashed

locomotive to original specification involving stripping back to sub-structure & re-fabricating back to original

specification.

INTERESTS & PAST-TIMES

Cycling whether mountain biking or road cycling two to three times a week.

Participated in Triathlon in Aug '09 to raise funds for “Special Olympics Ireland”.
