I hired Michael because of his diverse experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry, even though his experience did not fit the position I was attempting to fill. It was obvious to me during the interview process that his diversity would be an asset to our environmental reporting group. “Environmental Group” doesn’t describe the expectations of our group as we were all very diverse and were called upon almost daily to perform any task necessary to maintain production, manage expenses, regulatory compliance and reporting in any aspect of the industry.
Michael worked for me for about a year ending when the Tulsa office was closed in September 2015. He was offered a position in Houston but Michael chose not to relocate his family. He was a quick learner and dealt almost daily with vendors, managers, engineers, contractors, production foremen and pumpers. He gathered engine emission data for environmental testing, compliance and reporting for almost 1000 engines and 500 compressors. He compiled all the emission data for record keeping compliance and reporting.
He researched and bid services for the most competitive prices that still met but didn’t exceed state and federal regulations. He scheduled engine emission tests based on such things as engine size, type, date of manufacture and the date each engine was put in service and/or the last test.
Michael demonstrated that he was willing to volunteer for and perform any task. When it fell outside his areas of expertise or responsibility he would research the requirements and formulate a plan to successfully complete the task by or before any deadline. Michael was 100% reliable and dependable, is honest and sat quietly at his desk performing his duties as necessary. He was a team player, always looking for the best solution for the group as a whole never concerned with his personal views or feelings.
The best summary about Michael’s ability to perform any task is to ask if I would hire him again. The answer is without question or reservation. Yes.
