PFMA( Project Financial Management Application)

PFMA Is an application which manages all the projects in Ally. It uses prior year data to forecast the financials for future years. Starting with resource allocation, resource billing cycle, project management, and line item managements for each project. All the Tollgate Reports generated by the application is reported to the CEO of Ally Financials. Stated in 2012 PFMA has come a long way. Below are some bullet points

DQET(Data Quality Exception Tracker)

This application will provide Ally with a streamlined mechanism to be notified of exceptions to approved Data Quality rules, a system of record to submit, document, track and disposition exceptions, and a process to determine whether exceptions require formal issue identification via Ally’s Enterprise Issue Management process.

Data Quality rules are established through EDG ACE engagement and are executed through scheduling processes at a predetermined frequency (usually monthly). However there is no process/system to track and report on how the exceptions identified by these rules (Data Quality Exceptions) are being managed and remediated. Also, not all generated exceptions may be material / critical enough to be sent through the Ally’s Enterprise Issue Management process.

Hence an interim solution (Data Quality Exception Tracker or DQET) is required that will fill the gap of systematically managing DQ exceptions though an intermediate system outside of Ally’s Enterprise Issue Management process, and establish a process to manage and link exceptions requiring formal issue identification through Ally’s Enterprise Issue Management system.

The goals of DQET is to manage below points

Define a process to manage EDG Data Quality Exceptions

Provide tool/application to track and document disposition of Data Quality Exceptions

Provide Management reporting of Data Quality Exception Tracking

BCMS(Business Counterparty Management System)

Business Counterparty Management System (BCMS) is the system of record for storing Ally’s counterparties, risk ratings, and limits (both global and allocated). It is owned and used by Credit Risk Management.

BCMS basically used to store the records for the Counterparties. For each counterparty what is the GLOBAL Limit and what is the Allocated Limit is decided based on rating for the counterparty. At any stage Allocated limit should not exceed the global limit. Global limit factor depends upon the rating of the counterparty.

It is also used for MODEL ratings which is to decide whether to initiate /continue the business with respective financial institutions.

OAE IMPLEMENTAION

RDH(REFERENCE DATA HUB)

This development introduces a new tool based on the current Reference Data architecture that allows maintaining the Ally Critical Elements (ACE) using current Oracle Application Express (APEX). APEX utilizes a web browser for development, deployment and runtime, communicating with the Oracle Database using the web listener for page requests, rendering and processing.

The Maintenance pages will be developed using the Application Builder to develop the frontend and additionally an Oracle database to create objects as sequences, triggers, views, functions, packages, etc. The application will reside in the database tables as Meta data and leverage database utilities.

The RDH has 3 main purposes:

1.Provide an integrated solution for maintaining/approving/viewing valid reference data values and descriptions

2.Enable comparisons of like values between different source systems

3.Provide ability for downstream data owners/consumers to map source system values to their target data values

41’st PARAMETER

The 41’st Parameter Interface consists of 2 webservices. One is an endpoint exposed to the BITS platform that collects transaction data sent to 41’st Parameter. The same data that is sent to 41’st Parameter is sent to the OAE endpoint and inserted into the BITS_MSG table in the parm41 schema.

A second webservice makes a call from the database through the BITS server to the 41’st parameter endpoint. Scored data from the transactions sent from BITS is returned and inserted into a table in the RET_41ST_PARM table in the parm_41 table. DataStage reads both of the tables above and inserts data into the MARS system.

A purge process (via Tidal/Ksh scripts) is scheduled to remove records older than 15 days in both OAE tables. Purge process is scheduled to run nightly.
