I was a SME for all EMC Hardware in the data center environment. I was tasked as being a liaison between system analyst & storage engineer’s and vendors groups.

My responsibility was documenting and understanding the current environment and looking forward to new systems and risk response planning techniques.

Key Achievements:

Managed the infrastructure test lab for system engineer’s to provide proof-of-concept pilot for virtualization of Windows, UNIX servers to VMware. Worked with Virtualization team to come up with a plan to accelerate virtualizing the data center. Wrote lab test documentation and changes request to the enterprise infrastructure.

Planned the architecture for the SAN & Network infrastructure for the Data Center DR, TEST, DEV and QA site in San Antonio TX.

Helped with the planning, cabling and moving from Z9 to Z10 mainframes.

Architect in the move of fabric's from existing twenty-two ED140 McData switches to ten Brocade 48K switches affecting 625 Windows and 540 UNIX Servers, EMC & IBM Storage, NETAPP, Teradata, Cisco and Z9 MF.

Amdahl had taken over the contract from Unisys and liked my work ethics with US Airways.

I was trained on all US Airways enterprise systems as an on call field engineer. Promoted to computer services engineer II after two years and senior field engineer two years later.

Key Achievements:

Developed and managed a maintenance program that resulted in 60% savings on downtime for USAIRWAYS ticketing process and trained and managed three service engineers.
