To Whom It May Concern;
I am applying for the legal assistant position. I recently received my A.S. in Paralegal Studies and have B.S in Chemistry and a M.S. in College Student Personal. I currently work as a Developmental Math adjunct instructor at Indian River State College.
I completed an internship which led to an interim position with the Martin County Attorney’s Office. During my internship I assisted attorneys with the case binders as they prepared for hearings and trials. I also preformed legal research using the Florida Constitution and Statutes, MuniCode, Westlaw, and PACER. During my interim position I created a timeline for a big litigation case against the county. The timeline required me to organize over 3 years of case material in regards to one particular aspect important to the case.
I have spent many years working in various fields of education which require me to possess many of the necessary skills needed to work in the legal field. While working in education I have had to write letters and correspondence with parents and for student o receive various services. In Adult Education, I frequently had to field calls from the public in regards to services available. I also had to maintain student registration records and GED registration. Finally, as a teacher in any capacity it is vital to create and maintain a schedule in order to complete the required material in an adequate amount of time.
My salary requirement is in the $17 -$18 per hour range. However, my salary is negotiable based on the benefits package that is offered.
Thank you for your time and consideration for the available position. I can be reached at 772-***-**** for an interview.
Sincerely,
Amy Schnitzer
