Experience:

Thirty plus years experience in the areas of Project Management, Construction Management, Project Engineering and Engineering.

I have completed numerous projects in the areas of mechanical, piping, equipment, instrumentation, pipelines, above ground tanks, pressure vessels, civil, structural, buildings, pre-fabricated buildings, building remodeling, security, and related work.

Most of the projects were completed from cradle to grave. Starting at the point where the idea was developed, through the design, where a great deal of interface was accomplished with the design engineers by completing design reviews, constructability reviews and safety reviews. Then the projects were issued for construction and the process continued by determining if the work was to be completed self-perform or by subcontractors. At that point the documents were reviewed, long lead equipment identified and properly purchased. The scopes of work for subcontractors were determined and procured, pre-bid meetings with existing field conditions reviews completed, bids evaluated, technical evaluations completed and contracts awarded.

During the previously stated process deliveries for purchased items were determined, work schedules and estimates finalized, determining the base line documents for the project.

After awards the actual equipment deliveries were coordinated with field work and pre-construction meetings completed.

The review of deliverables, to assure compliance with the contract documents, and Request for Informations and answers, or coordination with the engineer of record started at this point.

The preceding construction process was determined by the prior determination of self-perform the work or the use of subcontractors. If contractors were used, the involvement was more of a contractual and technical nature. It also included planning and coordinating of construction activities for subcontractors, supervision of the company construction managers, quality inspectors and field inspectors, as well as participation on progress meetings and problem resolutions. When the work was self-performed it included the setting up the field personnel, coordinating schedules, coordinating equipment, materials and supplies deliveries, providing technical support, completing field inspections, determining progress, answering field questions, and any other assistance as necessary. For both, the involvement required evaluation and negotiation of contract changes and differing site conditions.

The process continued by scheduling and assisting during commissioning and turning over the completed project to the client.

This effort required excellent planning and communications with clients and other stake holders.

During this process, shop inspections equipment and supplies were performed to assure compliance with contract requirements.

Also responsible for Capital Projects and Major Maintenance Projects where an Architect Engineer was not required and where I determined the actual need and prepared the Statement of Work.

I also have worked as a Construction Engineer, Construction Manager, Plant Engineer in charge of Capital Projects and Maintenance, a Design Engineer mainly for mechanical/piping designs and as Quality Assurance/Control Engineer.

Throughout my career, I managed multiple projects of various sizes and nature at any one time.

I participated on the preparation, development and publication of Construction Procedures, Quality Assurance Programs, Project Procedures and Safety and Health Procedures for three companies.
