Current employment
I am Head of the Orthopaedic Department at Aleris Private Hospital, Stavanger, Norway.
Once a month I work in Gibraltar, England and Spain in two private Clinics, performing hand,
knee and foot surgery.
Education
I finished as specialist registrar at Hjoerring County Hospital, Denmark the 28.th of February
2002.
From 1st of April 2002 till 31st of August 2002 I was the Knee Fellow at the Royal Liverpool and
Broadgreen University Hospitals Knee Service, Liverpool, UK, with Consultant Orthopaedic
Knee Surgeon, Vladimir Bobic, MD, FRCSEd, as my mentor.
I was selected for this Fellowship by SAKS (The Danish Society for Sports Traumatology and
Sports Medicine) After my stay at Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals I
worked as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Randers County Hospital, Denmark, doing knee
arthroscopies, ACL reconstructions with PTB and Hamstrings grafts, ankle arthroscopies, hand
surgery, foot surgery, vessel surgery (varices) and all kinds of Traumatology. I worked at Randers
County Hospital in the period 1.st of September 2002 till 31 st of August 2003.
In my employment at Aalborg University Hospital from 1.st of September 2003 until 31. March
2007 I was doing ACL reconstructions, ligament reconstructions, knee and ankle arthroscopies,
and I was in charge of the ACI operations (autolog chondrocyte implantation/cartilage
transplantation) and Head of the Cartilage Research and Treatment Group.
At that time I performed approximately 50 % of all ACI operations/cartilage transplantations in
Denmark.
I introduced Trufit CB plugs in Denmark in 2007 and was in charge of the research related to the
Trufit CB plugs performed in Denmark.

In corporation with Professor Martin Lind, Aarhus University, Denmark; I have developed
Cartilink 3, a method for cartilage transplantation with cultured stem cells by arthroscopy.
Working in private hospitals
In 2006 we were four senior consultants from Aalborg University Hospital who opened our own
private hospital in Aalborg, Denmark, where I worked part time in combination with my work in
England/Spain where I started my own clinics in Gibraltar, England and Spain.
In 2010 we sold our hospital in Denmark to Teres Medical Group, Norway, and I became
responsible of the knee and foot surgery in their private hospital in Bergen, Norway.
In 2014 I was headhunted to the biggest private Scandinavian Health Group; Aleris, to be in
charge of the Orthopaedic Department at their new opening private hospital in Stavanger,
Norway, which is my present workplace.
Surgical experience
My surgical skills range from a broad variety of trauma surgery and elective surgery within knee,
hand and foot surgery.
I have done more than 20000 knee arthroscopies including meniscal repair with arrows,screws
and sutures and more than 1000 arthroscopic ACL reconstructions with patella tendon autograft
plus more than 1200 ACL reconstructions with hamstrings.
I have performed cartilage repair operations in more than 3000 patients, using microfracture
treatment, OATS, mosaikplastic, ACI and Trufit CB plugs.
I perform annually 1500-1600 knee and ankle arthroscopies, 150-200 ACL and PCL
reconstructions, multiligament injuries, 300 hand surgeries and 400 foot surgeries

Achieved on the 25.th of June 2004 from Aarhus University, Denmark.
I am supervisor for Ph.D. students within knee surgery/ACL reconstruction research at the
University of Bergen, Norway.
Teaching
Since 2004 I have been in charge of all cartilage seminars by Interface A/S, related to ACI
cartilage transplantations in knees. Regularly I teach senior consultants from Denmark and
Scandinavia in cartilage transplantations/repair and ACL reconstructions.
Course participation
I normally attend the ESSKA, ISAKOS and ICRS conferences.
