WORK EXPERIENCE
FLEXTRONICS INT. – Milpitas, CA
Mechanical Design Engineering Intern May – August 2016
Responsible for R&D in energy harvesting methods by studying and testing voltage outputs of piezoelectric, solar and radio frequencies.
Analyzed energy harvesting methods, using data collected, to determine best case applications for each method of harvesting.
Generated a report comparing results and findings from each method and presented the information to upper management in multiple engineering disciplines to implement on future projects.
Reverse engineered consumer electronics by preformed tear-downs, documenting the process and failure analysis.
Produced design and testing fixtures for cross-disciplined team using prototyping skills including additive manufacturing and laser cutting to ensure accurate results.
Mechanical Systems Engineering Intern May – August 2015
Created mechanical design concepts and drawings for various products and clients using mechanical tools and SolidWorks.
Delivered an on time, high quality product report, documented independently, to the client that included all data and information by maintaining and managing daily RAIL.
Lead characterization and calibration work for the team and ran all detailed tests with 100% percent accuracy.
Analyzed test readings to established curve fits and preformed regression analysis using Excel for weekly team progress meetings.
Assisted and collaborated with electrical engineers in trouble-shooting tests with current, electrical noise and mechanical noise in printed circuit boards (PCBs), which helped determine root causes and corrective actions.
MAKERS FACTORY – Santa Cruz, CA
Engineering Intern May – August 2013
Assisted in teaching summer engineering and software classes for children 9-12
Helped teach a brief introduction in programing with JavaScript
Created simple CAD graphics with students to 3-D print
COMPUTER AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
Engineering: SolidWorks, MATLAB, NX
MAC OS X: iWork, Pages, Numbers, Keynotes, Safari
MS Windows 10: Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project, Internet Explorer, Adobe
PROJECTS
SENIOR PROJECT
Induction Motion Activated Phone Charger 2016-2017
Created an electronics charger that produced electricity from the motion of a magnet through a copper wire.
Designed and model part on Solidworks, 3-D printed outside shell of the charger, and made an organized, detailed report of testing results, design requirements, and marketing plan that was developed over the course of the project.
Conducted cost analysis to minimize cost in large scale production.
SOCIETY OF AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING (SAE)
Member January 2013 – 2014
Collaborated with colleagues in designing and manufacturing a formula I race car.
