Developed new polymers for oil & gas well stimulation and enhanced oil recovery applications.

Solved the long-existing problems in the manufacturing of Nalco Ultimer product (polymer dispersion in brine, won USA Presidential Award) by redesigning the formulation and the reaction conditions. Scaled up the dispersion polymerization (for Ultimer product) from 1 lb to 100,000 lbs per batch.

Developed low cost fast-inverting inverse emulsion applied as friction reducers for heavy brines and produced field waters.

Developed a new method of micellar polymerization for hydrophobically associative polymers. Decreased the usage of surfactant by 93% and improved the sand suspension performance significantly (applied in hydraulic fracturing for oil and natural gas).

Developed a new method for Ulexite suspension in aqueous solution applied for delayed crosslinker and instant crosslinkers.
