ACADEMIC PROJECT

Fabrication and Testing of a Bi-Axial Testing Machine: In this project, a biaxial machine is fabricated and tested to describe the mechanical behavior of isotropic sheet material. The mechanism involves imposing tensile stress on either side of a plus shaped cruciform flat specimen perpendicularly. The process has been optimized to reach highest possible isotropic biaxial strain field. Data is numerically stored to calculate the In-plane strain field of tested material. This test is primarily used for research and development as it allows defined stress values in the intersection area of the specimen to be setup and investigated.
