JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for order and stocking all required drugs, maintaining expiration dates of drugs in all anaesthesia administering areas in the hospital (surgery, PACU, endoscopy, labour and delivery)

Checks anaesthesia machine every morning to ensure that the gas scavenging system is attached and that the suction apparatus functioning well

Arranges anesthetizing locations to indicate process and to set up monitoring devices

Uses airway management techniques in emergency methods and local anaesthesia techniques

Monitors patient vital signs before, during and after procedures

Provided hands-on assistance during intubations and worked quickly to find solutions in the case of difficult or out of department intubations

Assisted in setup and turnover of operating suites such as IV sets, invasive pressure lines and transducers

Assisted with difficult airway intubation, blocks and spinal procedures

Developed and implemented technical and patient care standards in conjunction with nurse manager
