Served as Supervisor to lay 2 underground feeders (3x400 mm2 cables), bringing in electricity from other substation (132kV to 33kV) 2 miles away; supervised 25 workers and use of excavator, ensured trenches were dug in correct location and cables laid with dimensions according to design

Worked on a team of 7 electrical engineers and 5 technicians to install, connect and test electrical panels

Installed control panel, wiring/cables, ABB switch gears, fire alarm systems, readying substation ready for use

Tested the panels using isolation testing, tested circuit breakers using Direct Current (DC) Contact Resistance Device, tested operation of controllers using AC Current Injector, and tested the isolation of bus-bars of switchgears and high voltage feeders using Megger (5kV) tester, TTR tester to test the turn ration of PT's (potential transformer) of switchgears.

Worked on a project awarded by US Army Corps of Engineers to rehabilitate a small distribution substation (33kV & 11kV) to power the Dukan Water Station, a water treatment plant providing clean drinking water to the city of Sulaymaniyah (population of 1.5M)

Supervised the replacement of parts of the damaged station and installed new ABB electrical panels, switch gears, disconnectors, circuit breakers, actuators, control panel, flow meters, sludge pumps, bridge crane motor, fixed bus bars, thermal protection sensors for 11kV pumps, and rehabilitated the damping tank

Worked in a team of 2 electrical & 3 mechanical engineers, and supervised 8 workers and 4 technicians

Project Manager June 2008 – Aug 2009

Served as the Project Manager for the civil works of a project to construct the main building of a 1500m (5000ft2) distribution substation (33kV/11kV) in Pshdar, providing residential electricity to the town of Ranya

Oversaw the construction process of a 33x8m (264ft ) building holding switch gears, electrical panels, controller protections, a communication room, and an operator room; also constructed an external security building and generator room

Laid the concrete foundation, dug trenches for laying cables, cast the roof, etc.

Managed and supervised 10-30 workers and foremen to ensure adherence to design, and ensure project was completed within 1 year timeframe and within budget

Oversaw workers’ payroll and purchased all construction equipment and materials including cement, sand, gravel, cast iron and bricks

Worked on a USD $35M project awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to supply clean drinking water to 14 rural areas of Nineveh Province in Northern Iraq

Worked with a team of 10 engineers and oversaw the renovation and construction of the largest of the 14 sites in Sinjar, a town with a population of 40,000 people

Inspected the construction work of 2 subcontractors & 70 workers, who dug 10 wells (200m deep), installed 10 submersible pumps (Grundfos), constructed concrete storage tanks (8 elevated & 4 ground), laid 20km (12.5mi) of PVC & ductile iron pipes (4x10in), and constructed rooms for operators, generators & chlorination

Inspected the work of 2 subcontractors and 20 workers to supply submersible pumps with electrical power; supervised the installation of 6km (3.72mi) of 11kV power transmission lines (11kV), 158 iron poles (11m) and 15 iron poles (9m, 380v), 4 overhead transformers handled on H pole (11kV/380v)

Worked on the installation of 3 new iron ground storage tanks (1,165ft each); installed large concrete bases (2000ft ), replaced 6 damaged horizontal pumps, as well as vertical and motor pumps and dug a large well (3m diameter and 8m in depth)

Managed USD $.5M invoices for subcontractors, payroll for all workers, and transportation costs
