Responsible to study and monitor the diversity of heterotrophic organisms (prokaryotes and eukaryotes) associated with non-axenic photo-autotrophic cultures in a closed photobioreactor system. This involved monitoring, isolation, characterization, identification using 16s/18s rRNA sequencing and archiving of heterotrophs and screen their ability to consume the end product (ethanol) . Accomplishments:

o Served as a primary curator of the entire collection of heterotrophic micro-organisms (2500+ bacterial and fungal contaminants) for the entire company
