Senior Client Support Administrator

Head IT Site Administrator for Microchip Technologies New York Hauppauge Office, supervised level 1 helpdesk and Jr level 2 desktop employees.

Responsible for Microchips Hauppauge Server Room (25+ Servers), supporting multiple Windows Servers Versions, Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 (File Servers, DHCP, Domain Controllers) all located in the server Room.

Domain Administrator support role for prior company’s (SMSC) Domain as well as Microchips Active Directory Domain, performing all tasks needed through Active Directory. Creation and Termination of AD Accounts/Email accounts, user logon scripts, AD Groups, Managing and Creation of new Active Directory OU’s, Group Policy creation and editing.

Provided Network support for the entire Hauppauge office, troubleshooting end user client systems as well as server issues making changes as needed. Daily troubleshooting of networking issues working in the wiring closets’ network switch rooms as needed. Sometimes I worked with the assistance of Microchip’s Networking Team, making changes to the Network Core Switch itself in the server room running new fiber lines and tracking down certain network port issues.

Responsible for Tape Backup Administration with Symantec NetBackup Client. Weekly removing appropriate tapes scheduled to be sent out for storage at Iron Mountain and receiving tapes back to put back into daily/weekly/monthly tape rotations. Managing Backup jobs, creating and modifying and deleting jobs as requested.

Configure Setup and Deploy new systems to users and New Hires, collect terminated employees hardware to be re- provisioned saving Term Employee data. Install and configure troubleshoot hardware/software as needed.

Administrator of Microchips Laptop/Desktop Imaging solution MDT 2013 Update 2 (Microsoft’s free version of SCCM) with Windows Deployment Server (WDS) which enabled network PXE booting for imaging for all North American Sites. Created the main corporate image for Windows 7 and recently Windows 10 as well as software deployment packages for deployment on all Microchip end user systems.

SQL Database Support of existing Databases (Altiris, MDT),

Main Lotus Notes Administrator for all Lotus Notes 8.5 Domino Servers and support for end user client’s version 8.5.1. FP3 configurations Recertifying and Creating new Lotus Notes IDs as needed.

Administered existing VMware environment (ESXi HA Cluster) with the VMware vSphere Client version 5.1. Managed day to day issues related to VM environment. Creation of new VM’s using existing templates. Resolving VM issues on existing VM’s (networking, memory, storage) problems.

Support for Linux and Unix Systems. (Exceed, EOD)

NetApp Administration with NetApp OnCommand System Manager for the Hauppauge Office creating new windows shares and new active directory groups assigning the proper permissions the shares for the new AD groups. Also removing shares as needed.

Completed Yearlong Project to recreate all windows CIFIS shares that were hosted on multiple NetApps that needed to be reconfigured with new shares and Active Directory Groups and permissions recreated.

Replaced Bad Hard Drives on multiple NetApp’s as needed with NetApp Support sending drive replacements.

Global Administrator of Microchips CrashPlan Server (Microchips main pc backup solution) also responsible for the Internal CrashPlan Server and end user clients upgrades.

oProject Manager Role

In mid-2015 through February 2016 I was Brought on board to Microchips PC Systems Migration team to integrate recently acquired company “Micrel” PC systems into the Microchip Domain. Traveled to the Micrel Headquarters in San Jose California multiple times to help resolve various PC migration issues that were effecting users and their ability to work after being migrated. Evaluated the migration process and was assigned to take over the PC Domain Migration Project, making the needed changes so users were no longer having migration issues. Finalized the PC Systems Migration for Micrel to Microchip to a successful completion

March 2016 through July 2016 Served as Head Project Manager for the acquisition of “Atmel”, a multi-billion dollar company leading the Atmel PC systems Migration to the Microchip Domain effort to migrate 5000+ systems globally from North America, Europe, India, and Asia. Traveled to the Atmel Headquarters in San Jose California numerous times in order to develop and implement a domain migration project plan. Collaborated with global IT Members and Managers, leading group meetings at various times of the day and night to provide support for all geographical regions of the world. Delegated tasks to all support personnel from the Storage Teams, Networking Teams, Email Teams, and Active Directory Administration Teams for the different phases of the project.
