Responsible for storage provisioning, monitoring, and management, including balancing multiple storage pools, carving needed storage, monitoring physical status, end to end programming of physical servers to prepare for storage attachment, and programming storage switches when attaching new devices to the SAN. Designed and implemented server management network. Co-managed Symantec Endpoint Protection on 2600 PCs with input from IT Security Director.
Storage Administration: Managed 210 terabyte storage system and related fiber optic based storage connectivity. Oversaw 60 terabyte deduplication system attached to backup server.
VMware Administration: Programmed and operated 12 VMware host servers containing 35+ virtual servers. Full life cycle installation, implementation of operating systems, and utilization of virtual snapshots. Converted metal servers to virtual servers and migrated virtual servers to virtual hosts within environment.
