Dear Sir/Madam,
I am very pleased to submit my resume for the position of Drilling Engineer for your consideration. I am looking forward to being able to share my knowledge and experience with the team of the hiring company, as well as learning new skills and information. Having professional experience from the United States of America and Canada, I will easily adapt to a new environment, and interact with all levels of the organization.
One of the other things that I am looking forward to is making my contribution to the continuous success of the employer by making use of my written and verbal communication skills. Having experience with leading kick off meetings, pre-inspection meetings, safety reviews, design reviews, and internal training seminars, I believe I can benefit the employer with my presentational abilities. I believe my presentation and organization skills are a large advantage, in order for me to lead meetings with engineers and operational/maintenance personnel.
I have recently been the Quality Engineer / Package Coordinator for Shell Canada where I managed the execution of several purchase order packages simultaneously. I was responsible from start to finish of the entire package with our vendors, where I would be turning the packages over for site construction. One of my major roles for executing packages was reviewing and marking up all documentation from all my vendors, and ensuring the packages have the correct documentation (codes, regulations, certifications, manuals, inspection test plans, etc.) that site will require to start and complete construction.
Prior to my involvement with Shell Canada, I was the facilities engineer for Canadian Natural Resources Limited where I assisted in the execution of projects for the “Sustaining Capital” group, for the “Tailings” area of oil sands. I was involved from the design stages of the project, all the way to the completion of construction. I have also been the project engineer for the clients of Penn West and Baytex, and have assisted in upgrading pipelines, satellites, batteries, and other equipment at existing facilities. I visited multiple sites for both Penn West and Baytex to detect any deficiencies in their facilities, and to make sure that their equipment was to current regulations, standards, and specifications. I coordinated the projects from the design stage of the projects to the construction kickoff stage for Penn West and Baytex.
While working for Ensign US Drilling Inc. in the USA, I gathered extensive knowledge on how to safely and efficiently drill wells. At Ensign US Drilling Inc., I was also a part of the asset integrity group which implemented new maintenance procedures on all major equipment in order to minimize the down time of the drilling rigs. I also coordinated vendor invoices, invoicing procedures, and purchasing procedures.
I would be delighted to meet with you and find out more about the position of Drilling Engineer you are looking to fill and tell you more about myself, and how my knowledge and skills can benefit the hiring company and its team members. I can be reached at 403-***-**** or ac0mgl@r.postjobfree.com.
Thank you for your consideration. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Alexander Vinnik (P. Eng)
