Objective

Internship Experience

Dr. Orlando Portal- Family Practice This practice focuses on providing personalized care which includes family members in the planning process and utilizes e-clinical EMR. Average 20-30 patients daily.

Dr. Sonia Ruiz-Pediatric This practice incorporates nutritional counseling, lab testing specific for nutritional deficiencies, and nutritional counseling to improve health in the pediatric population, along with traditional care. Paper charting, average 25 plus patients daily.

Emma McMicken, ARNP-Women’s Health (Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine) This organization is a volunteer-run medical clinic that provides free quality medical care to the working uninsured of Polk County. Onsite lab and pharmacy, prescribing based on free medication available and referrals on provider availability. EMR average 20 plus patients daily.

Dr. Jonathon Alvior-Adult health/Geriatrics Family practice focusing on patient education for chronic issues like diabetes, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases and providing innovative lab testing such as pharmacogenomics. EMR, average 25 plus patients daily.
