PROJECTS
Industrial Robotics Project, Writing Calligraphy Using an ABB Robot, WPI, March – May, 2016
Programmed an ABB IRB 1600 robot to perform Chinese calligraphy and also imitate human’s motion.
Designed and modeled an end effector for the robot’s gripper by using SolidWorks and a 3D printer to hold the brush.
Used RobotStudio to develop an algorithm for the ABB robot’s pathing and configuration.
Calibrated and tested the program on the robot, and obtained satisfactory results for three characters. Senior Project, Redesign of the WPI Rotary Kite-Powered Water Pump, WPI, July - October, 2016
Redesigned the previous system to harness wind power by a controllable kite to pump water for developing country, and massively increased the portability and efficiency.
Developed a kite control and communication system to make the power harnessing process autonomous and adjustable to various wind conditions.
Made a circuit with DC motor, Arduino, transmitter and receiver, and programmed it with the controller for kite remote control.
Thermofluid System Design Project, Geothermal Water Cooling System, WPI, October - December, 2015
Led a five-member team to design a geothermal water cooling system for a house in Massachusetts to handle the hottest day in summer.
Calculated the total heat transfer to the house in order to know the desired performance of the thermal fluid system.
Selected each component of system, and analyzed the thermal system by balancing the constraints of each component.
Optimized the cost by using Lagrange Multiplier method in MatLab. EXPERIENCE
Weigao Medical Polymer Co., Limited, Weihai, China Mold Design and Manufacture Intern, June-August, 2015
Helped the molding branch to develop its own injection mold for plastic medical products by using Creo, and kept improving the quality of the mold by constantly communicating with the manufacturing division.
Worked with the marketing team to draw marketing strategies, specifically designed a navel cleaning kit for parents to use on infants.
Siemens Electrical Drives Limited, Tianjin, China
Mechanical Intern, June-August, 2014
Preassembled the Traction Converter of CHR High Speed Train, and tested its performance to ensure quality before its shipment.
Redesigned manufacturing work bench to improve productivity.
