Senior Design: Metal Surface Quality Characterization

• Applied statistical testing using Minitab with a focus on the ANOVA table to determine the most significant physical anomalies in our picture accuracy.

• Trade-off and Risk management studies were done by utilizing the following models to create and calculate the average score for each design:

• Fiber light inspection

• Polarization of reflected light

• Pattern of laser light reflected

• VBA code for the selected model resulted in uniform samples to determine which design is more aligned to P&G needs.

• Designed porotype testing utilizing AutoCAD via material specification to ensure the quality of the design.

• Utilized project management skills with a focus on the requirements and cross- functional communication allowed for success in the critical path.

• After providing P&G with the most successful sample I was awarded “Thorlabs Photonics is the Future Award”; the most innovative use of optoelectronics and optomechanics in a design.
