SENIOR PROJECTS
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR PROCESS IMPROVEMENT May 16’ – Dec 16’
The major aim of this project was to successfully identify and investigate the various problems in the existing TACO2 engineering system and provide solutions to improve it.
Factors which affect the performance of the system were analyzed using Root Cause Analysis assessing data from cross-functional teams across Detroit and Germany to provide standardization.
The issue was successfully resolved with replacing the existing system with a new improved and advanced system resulting in cost reduction – quality improvements.
LEAN IMPLEMENTATION IN SURFACE GRINDING MACHINE INDUSTRY May 16’ – Aug 16’
A special project was undertaken to implement the lean manufacturing principles in the assembly line of the plant.
Successfully established the current state value stream map by tracking the material flow across the facility.
Future state map with Kanban blitz improvement measures to improve productivity in work was presented.
Factors which affect the downtime were analyzed and measured using time motion studies.
PRODUCT OPTIMIZATION OF VORTEX SPARE PARTS COMPANY Jan 16’ – May 16’
A challenge was presented to find out the most profitable plant among three plants having different location sites.
Detailed analysis was done based on market trends, man-power utilization, production rates, PMTS, labor skills and this analysis was inputted into MS Excel to achieve conclusive results.
Over Equipment Effectiveness were measured in each facility and KPI’s were analyzed.
Based on quality standards and inventory holding costs, the most profitable plant was selected.
OPTIMIZING MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY Nov 14’ – Dec 14’
The major aim of this project was to eliminate the faults in the assembly line resulting in incomplete assembly and identify the reasons for downtime.
Reasons for the faults were investigated using Fish Bone Diagram resulting in process improvements
Downtime trackers were set up including PDCA initiatives to keep track of process improvements.
Recommendations were made at the end of the project with proposals being accepted for implementation.
