View, Inc. Olive Branch, MS and Milpitas, CA February 2011 – April 2017

View, Inc. is a manufacturer of electrochromic windows called “dynamic glass” that adjusts to the amount of light and heat entering a building to reduce energy consumption. View is a venture capital funded, start-up company, headquartered in the Silicon Valley with a high-volume manufacturing facility in Olive Branch, MS. www.viewglass.com. Hired in February 2011, I am the one and only Human Resources Manager that View, Inc., has ever employed. As such I have successfully designed, implemented, monitored an HR platform for all human resources policies and procedures, implemented all HRIS systems and staffed an organization of 300-plus employees.

Sr. Human Resources Manager September 2016 April 2017

Responsible for all human resources operations of View, Inc.’s start-up manufacturing facility currently employing 300-plus full-time employees. Factory began manufacturing operations in July 2011. Major responsibilities and accomplishments included:

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and indirectly to the entire Executive Team as well as the Corporate Director of Human Resources.

Accomplishing an employee relations record consisting of zero EEOC complaints, unlawful harassment and discrimination cases over 6-plus years.

Conducted investigations into unlawful harassment and discrimination complaints.

Expanding a Human Resources Department from one to four direct reports.

Talent acquisition for all positions, including, but not limited to: exempt Directors, Managers and Supervisors responsible for General Administration; Sales; Information Technology; Operations, Logistics, Technology, Engineering, Quality, Yield as well as all non-exempt, factory-direct employees for Production, Metrology, Industrial/Facilities Maintenance and Quality Assurance.

Reviewing 20,000-plus resumes and conducting 6,000-plus in person interviews over the last six-plus years.

Developing, implementing, monitoring and continuously improving an onboarding training program pertaining to all human resources policies and procedures for a continuously increasing workforce which grew from 4 to 300-plus employees.

Successfully executing a labor capacity expansion plan by recruiting 55-plus employees in Q4 2016; one of several successfully completed labor capacity ramp plans.

Training managers and supervisors on HR best management practices, including: time and attendance tracking, progressive disciplinary action, conflict resolution and employee relations, etc. in a manufacturing/distribution environment.

Utilizing past government relations experience negotiated with the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) to extend the company’s commitment to create 330 permanent, full time jobs; saving the company $1.3M.

Generating revenue in excess of $750K via participation in the MDA’s On-The Job Training Program over six years. Original agreement was $450K over three years.

During a time of financial crisis, developed a staffing plan that, if implemented, would have reduced operational and capital expenses by approximately $700K a month.

Serving as Interim Corporate Director of Human Resources responsible for all human resources functions at both the corporate headquarters in Milpitas, CA and its manufacturing facility in Olive Branch, MS from December 2012 through April 2014 employing a total of 400-plus employees at the time.

Developing all processes, policies and procedures from scratch for the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention of all exempt and non-exempt employees.

Continuously improving all employment policies into an employee handbook; ensuring it reflects the organization’s constantly evolving and growing operations.

Developing, implementing, conducting and enforcing an Occupational Safety and Health training and development program.

TRSA is an international professional trade organization representing member companies in the uniform, linen and healthcare laundry supply industries. The association employs between 20-25 full time employees. Human Resources and OSHA Compliance Consultant June 2010 – February 2011

Independent contractor responsible for managing the association’s industry-wide safety initiative, SafeTRSA. Implemented and oversaw all SafeTRSA budgets, projects, meetings and communications while simultaneously serving as a human resources and occupational safety and health consultant to the industry. The industry achieved a 46.8% reduction in its occupational injury and illness rates since the program’s inception.

Senior executive responsible for the entire human resources operation of a professional trade association representing the linen and uniform supply industry. Major responsibilities and accomplishments included:

Managing personnel: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, orienting, retaining and separating employees across all departments.

Preparing and managing annual budgets for the Human Resources and Safety Committees.

Establishing the first industry-wide safety program, including, but not limited to: developing safety surveys, recruiting participation from the association’s member companies and negotiating with both OSHA and BLS to demonstrate the industry’s commitment to safety. Resulting in a 50% reduction in OSHA safety inspections of the industry.

Serving as staff liaison to association’s Safety & HR Committee and related task forces.

Administering 401(k) and pension retirement plans: enrolled eligible employees; processed participant contributions and ensured regulatory reporting and filing compliance.
