Role: Quality Engineer
Responsibilities:
Manufacture acoustical and thermal fiber insulation to a variety of automotive applications.
Manage 14 employees including Quality Supervisors, Auditors, TS clerk and lab technician
Supervised and trained GP12 inspectors for quality after production on the plant floor to meet the standards of General Motors.
Responsible for preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Work Instructions and Quality Alerts.
Reacting to Customer complaints by implementing interim containment action and permanent preventive action through use of 8D problem solving and Error Proofing methods to ensure PRR is resolved.
Prepare PPAP and APQP documents for the production process in machining of the parts liaising Customer Supplier quality.
Raised quality issues and concerns during the MRB (Material Review Board) meetings and work with Production, MP&L and Advance Manufacturing department and found Root-Cause for issues (Both Customer & Internal).
Performed Internal Audits and analyzed the individual performance of the Quality Inspectors to meet the standards of General Motors Built in Quality System (BIQS).
Perform both visual and X-ray checking for the non-conformance parts with casting defects, which is communicated to the supplier immediately. These issues are recorded as FMEA documents and prevent it permanently.

Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality of product received at the customer by supporting the injection molding and assembly product line operations.
Led a team of 12 full-time technicians and responsible for production planning and machining operation of chassis parts such as Front Control Membrane & lower control arm.
Used 3D CAD tool to develop model of chassis, components, interconnects, Hoods, Bumpers &assemblies.
Worked on CATIA-V5, generative sheet metal workbench, cutting, stamping, part design, drafting, product design, steel automotive products.
Manage the Quality Control lab. This includes the maintenance and calibration of all metrology instruments as well as torque and click wrenches on our production line.
Calibrate and maintain all check fixtures for all chassis lines and incoming department.
Obtained Maintenance Department cooperation and backing for project activities, including installation assistance.
Developed and updated all departmental Master project schedules, and CPM charts using MS Project Professional.
