Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager

Hired to lead the EHS program within a 350,000 square foot facility making non-woven material. Tasked with evaluating and making an immediate determination on the viability of a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) STAR classification within a facility overdue for re-certification. Worked towards withdrawing from the program while improving the EHS management system and employee engagement within the facility. Key Contributions:

• Managed a 4-member team of professionals to drive improvement through leading indicators. Developed and mentored a diverse group of professionals in EHS practices, technical knowledge, and communication.

• Developed site-specific safety management system to replace VPP. Used risk management and Supervisor safety leadership development as the foundation of the program to provide proactive protection to employees.

• Six Sigma Green Belt project reducing energy costs by $201,000 annually. The project focused on compressed air leak and peak demand reduction with a roadmap of future reductions and data collection established. D. WILLIAM CONSULTING, BELLEFONTAINE, OH 2005 - 2015 Owner / Consultant

• Drafted and implemented a new Notice of Intent (NOI) for air permit 1 month ahead of schedule while simultaneously implementing a change to low-Volatile Organic Compounds coatings to meet state laws for metal parts applications.

• Established new wastewater treatment process to increase efficiency and reduce cost. Modifications reduced labor by 13 hours per month, increased floor space by 57 square feet, and lowered waste disposal costs by $23,500 per year.
