Linux Upgrades and System Management of OS using the Satellite server

Linux Administration – Support for 2500+ servers in a network operations controls facility (both Primary and Alternate sites). Leverage Linux tools that include Yellowdog update modifier (Yum) for OS and Applications software updates and install packages. Monitoring servers and performance testing using native tools such as sar, top, free, vmstat and iostat

Department of Defense (DAASC) - Sr. Systems Administrator 11/2004 to 4/2010:

Handle new server installation including HPUX, Red Hat Linux OS upgrades, patch systems and OS, firmware upgrades, configure network connectivity, setup auditing, maintain file systems, working DBA’s to install Oracle and other applications, configure External Storage Area Network (SAN) Storage for servers. Install various applications, system security, Add users and groups, HPUX MC/Service Guard for failover, monitor and configure disk using Santricity Storage Manager, configure switches for Disk/Tape Storage Area Network (SAN), Firmware and Switch code upgrades and system backups.

Manage Netbackup environment including communications, backup schedule and policies, Master Server, and 4 media servers consisting of Sun and HP systems including adding new clients.

Maintain robotic storage devices consisting of Spectra Logic Gator 4,000 tape silo and 4 Spectra Logic Bullfrog 1000.

Upgrade Veritas Netbackup (Data center) from version 3.4 to 4.

Intira/Divine - UNIX System Engineer/Unix Administrator 2/ 2000 to 3/2002:

Provided 24 x 7 support for UNIX environments and internal servers consisting of 100 Sun Solaris enterprise servers, 220, 420, 450, ultra 60, 40 HP-UX class A-N, and 4 Linux Servers. Design, install, and maintain network management system hardware, OS and soft- ware.
