Software Test Engineer
Conduct Regression Testing against source code (IMS APAR's) currently being serviced, with primary goal to eliminate programming errors (PE’s) from reaching clients. Install, maintain and execute all SMP / E tasks related to Build & Packaging, including libraries for housing all IMS source code for test, development and early client-preview drivers.
Testing Environment
Project management: Directed development of Test case Master Catalog (TMC) and led team of experienced developers, programmers and testers, creating capability of testing huge amounts of source code prior to client delivery, and providing ability to track code defects.
Regression Testing: Eliminated field problems by identifying, documenting and reporting code detects to development. All source defects must be eliminated prior to code delivery to IMS clients.
Understanding z / OS environments for both VM & MVS: Led, teamed and collaborated with entire test community, migrating all testing to newest z / OS levels, and ensuring successful migrations completed ahead of schedule.
Maintaining and understanding TMC: Performed manual testing and monitored for bottle necks; reengineered entire process with automation, delivering source code to clients on target.
Build & Packaging Environment
Installed, maintained main frame service libraries for entire IMS organization, enabling storage & retrieval of IBM source code for internal and external clients, and allowing for early code defect discovery and resolution, guaranteeing defect free source code delivery to clients.
Ensured delivery of IMS source code to clients by target dates, utilizing Sysgens, and accommodating special setup needs for testing and development communities.
