SUMMARY
I am currently seeking employment as a Registered Nurse. I have spent the last seventeen years working as a nurse practitioner and I feel it is time for a change. I prefer office work opposed to in-patient clinical, as it has been may years since I worked in an acute setting.
I am a certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with seventeen years experience in full-time direct patient care. My NP program prepared me for some primary care, with a concentration in obstetrics and gynecology.
My strengths include strong interpersonal and assessment skills. I work well with patients and staff. I have extensive experience providing basic primary care, gynecology services, health screening and education to women of all ages. In the past, I have managed low risk obstetric patients from the initial pre-natal exam/education appointment through 38 weeks gestation. I have successfully managed over two thousand women per year as my own caseload, as well as seeing other patients for acute care issues.
My personal philosophy includes an emphasis on health promotion and illness prevention and empowering women to assume responsibility for health and wellness.

I most recently worked as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in a Title X funded Family Planning Clinic. I provided birth control and annual health screening to uninsured and under-insured women. I perform physical exams, Pap smears, STD testing, immunizations and refer patients to services within the community. I insert and remove Nexplanon, Paragard, and Mirena devices. I am proficient with Cure MD EMR.
I served as a volunteer at the Patient Entrance desk. I decided to volunteer while between jobs.

I provided a wide range of contraceptives and diagnosed and treated sexually transmitted infections.
