Senior Design – Universal Expanding Cage (UEC) 08/16 - Present

• Working with a team of students and Dr. Grotz, who patented a Universal Expanding Cage (UEC); a bio-mechanical device that is implanted between the human spine to correct any disc deterioration and vertebra displacement. The goal is to design, perform static and dynamic testing, conduct failure analysis using 316L Stainless Steel material, and manufacturing the device to meet the 510k clearance for premarket approval for human trials.
