I have over ** years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry. The majority of my time during that period has been spent with working on subsea equipment specifications, supervising the design engineering, manufacturing, construction, installation, operation and de-commissioning.
The position’s I have held included working as a project engineer, senior engineer, subsea engineer, and site representative both on and offshore. For the past fifteen years I have concentrated on work in the offshore oil and gas subsea hardware equipment sector, In particular production hardware (trees, manifolds etc), control systems, intervention, and work over equipment.
If I have any preference it is acting as the site representative overseeing on behalf of the operator that the equipment specification, design, manufacture, and equipment testing followed by its subsequent installation, commissioning and de-commissioning meet with the operator and regulatory requirements.

NES Global – Houston, USA July 2008 to Present
Subsea Engineer, Seconded to Chevron working as site representative at an equipment manufacturer for the supply of subsea tree hardware for the Frade MCP Project Phase II in Brazil. I also worked as Tree Lead engineer on the Rosebank project overseeing tree design and qualification work, producing the specifications for multiple Production and Water Injection trees and support equipment for offshore West of Shetland in the UK. The work was performed at another equipment manufacturers office and continued through to FEED.
Subsea Engineer, Seconded to Shell IEP working on subsea hardware, typically design/cost reviews and proposals for new developments aka BC 10 Phase II in Brazil. Also overseeing design and qualification programs for downhole optical fiber feedthrough systems and developing a proposal for in well heating to improve product flow.
PATHCON – Houston, USA Feb 2007 to July 2008
Subsea Engineer, Seconded to BP producing intervention procedures and specifications for use on the Thunder Horse development working directly for the Wells team. The procedures involve Subsea Installations, Interventions and equipment recovery of production equipment using specialized workover equipment. Also involved with the setting up of the IRM systems for supporting the Thunder Horse Subsea equipment packages as well assisting with reviewing and assessing bid responses and any off site equipment testing.

Subsea Engineer, Seconded to Shell IEP producing Global Specifications for Subsea Hardware i.e.; Wellheads, Trees, Completion and Workover Riser Systems, Manifolds and Tie-In Systems. Compiled specification packages for Subsea Hardware for projects in Africa, Brazil and Asia and assisted (as part of a team) reviewing and assessing bid responses by contractors to ITT packages for Subsea Hardware.

ChevronTexaco Project Team. Responsible for review and preparation of the specifications for the bid document for the Production Trees, Manifold and Flowline sleds for the Blind Faith development offshore GOM.
Subsea Engineer, Anadarko Project Team. Responsible for review and preparation of section of specifications for the bid document relating to the Production Trees, Manifold and Flowline sleds for the GC518 development offshore GOM. Also assisted with bid review, assessment and bid placement then the design and equipment reviews and progress reporting.
Subsea Engineer, Exxon-Mobil Erha Project . Responsible for review and preparation of section of bid document relating to the Production, Gas Injection and Water Injection Xmas Tree’s for the Erha development offshore Nigeria.
Subsea Engineer, Canyon Express Project Team. Responsible for managing change request applications, subsea interface actions, and equipment qualification testing requirements for the deepwater environment (7,500 feet of seawater). From September 2001 thru’ June 2002 at Cameron, supervising design, manufacture, build and testing of the production Xmas Trees and running and installation equipment. After June 2002 until October 2002 served as onsite engineering support at the Jumper manufacturing site in Louisiana. From 2002 thru’ 2005 worked as offshore rep performing Jumper Installation, Flowline and Equipment survey, Choke and Control Pod Interventions and hurricane damage surveys.

Lead Wellhead, Tree and Subsea Engineer on a feed study for the Husky Oil White Rose project in the N. Atlantic offshore Newfoundland.
Peak Well Management - Aberdeen, Scotland Jan to June 2000
Subsea Engineer, Supervised the refurbishment and preparation of the completion and workover riser system and installation equipment for Ventures Birch and Larch fields.
Premier Oil – Jakarta/Batam, Indonesia & Singapore Jan 1998 to Dec 1999
Subsea Engineer. Coordinated on and offshore work for the Anoa field comprising a work over and sidetrack on an existing well and drilling and completing two new satellite wells for production Xmas trees. The bulk of the contract involved raising specifications for the Xmas trees and the production of all the running and operational procedures.

Subsea Engineer. Coordinated the various sub-contractor reports for a Feed study for Soekor and the equipment was the Xmas trees, the production control system, the flowline design, and installation activities.
Altra Consultants – Aberdeen, Scotland May 1996 to April 1997
Subsea Engineer. Provided the specifications for subsea production equipment for Amerada Hess’s Abbott FPSO bid. Coordinated the interfaces between the production control system and the Xmas trees on behalf of Maersk/NSP for the Conoco MacCulloch Project.
Lasmo North Sea – Aberdeen, Scotland 1994 to May 1996
Resident Site Engineer at Drilquip UK overseeing the design, manufacture, build, testing and integration of a work over and production subsea package. Following the site and integration tests I was seconded to the Lasmo Drilling group to act as the offshore equipment supervisor overseeing the installation and commissioning of the equipment in the Birch field.
Coflexip /Stena Offshore – Aberdeen, Scotland 1994
Subsea Engineer. Worked on a short-term contract to raise a design specification and tender document for the procurement of a power and signal cable. The cable was to be installed to link a remote unmanned production platform to a host facility to control the production output. The work was for Shell and the platforms were the Barque and the Galleon.

Resident Site Engineer at ABB Vetco Grey in Aberdeen overseeing the design, manufacture and testing of equipment being procured for the Hudson project.

Senior Subsea Engineer. Worked on an EPC contract involving the supply of subsea production equipment for the Elf Lille Frigg project. The work involved the overseeing of the design, procedure development and any work involving the supply of National Oilwell Xmas trees, wellheads and work over equipment

Resident Site Engineer at ABB Vetco Grey Aberdeen overseeing the supply of subsea production equipment for the Scott development. The contract value was in the region of 28 million pounds sterling spread over 3 years. Primary responsibilities were to oversee and coordinate the design, procurement, manufacture, build and testing processes as well as the review and approval of procedures, site queries and manuals
