PROJECTS
March 2016– May 2017 University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, TX
Sponsored by Zytex Labs and UT Design, Senior Design Project (August 2016 – May 2017)
Member of a team consisting of five (5) engineers, both mechanical and electrical, to design and build a prototype for homemade cake designing system
oAssisted in the design of a gantry system that controlled X, Y and Z motion of the cake designing system
oWorked on the icing dispensing system (IDS) aspect of the cake design system in conjunction with an electrical engineer
oWorked on the user interface for the icing dispensing system using C++ coding language
Intro to Computational Design and Analysis (November 2016-December 2016)
Assigned to a two-man group to improve the design of our preferred product using selected design constraints to accomplish our objective.
oResearch was done to find average size of soccer studs, then Matlab was used to minimize volume, Creo was used to create a computer design of the stud with the minimized volume and the regular volume, Abaqus was used to compare and analyze load and stress concentrations of both the regular and minimized volume.
Car Design Project (March 2016 - April 2016)
Assigned to build a car powered by a tension spring with 2 other team members
Design issues arose and were corrected; issues included buckling correction and alignment correction as well as reduction of wheel slippage
oUsed knowledge of bolts, axles, washers, bearings and other design components to correct those issues and make a successful design
