HP FARES is a complete pricing tool for Aviation Industry. It calculates fares with high pricing accuracy. It abides by all IATA pricing principles and ATPCO rules for processing. It deals with fare display which displays the fares for a particular market to the User and then allows him price his journey through Pricing.

Clients: Many Airlines with Continental (CO) and American Airlines (AA) as our major clients.

Project #1:

Project Name: SITA FARES

Team Size: 8 developers (4 from Offshore & 4 from Onshore HP America), 2 Analysts (Onshore)

Overview: SITA Fares is a GDS maintained by SITA to provide fares and pricing support abiding to the IATA pricing principles and ATPCO rules for processing similar to HP Fares. It deals with many aspects which fall between the fare displays to pricing process.

Involvement:

Involved in analyzing and coding

Performing unit and regression testing

Assisting teammates when required and preparing some documentation to be used for future training purposes.

Project Name: HP FARES – ATPCO Optional Services

Team Size: 2 developers (Myself from Offshore and 1 from Onshore), 3 Business Analysts and 4 Infra Resources

Overview: Automated ATPCO Optional Services Product catalogs that operating and marketing carriers can offer its customer. This product provides a new data service to permit querying the below mentioned points.

The optional services data to obtain a list of optional services identifiers and descriptions and to obtain carrier specific optional services.

The fee(s) for specific optional services.

Optional services that may be included in Pricing and Fare Display requests.

Follow-on services to obtain more information about the optional services fees using information from a previous Fare Display or Pricing request.

This is basically to automate things to add the price of the optional services offered to the customer to the actual price of the base fare.

Involved in preparing the design documents as per the ATPCO requirement.

Involved in Analyzing and Coding the requirement.

Preparing the different flavors of test cases to be used for testing.

Project Name: HP FARES – ATPCO Baggage Allowance

Overview: The baggage allowance associated to a passenger’s fare is output on the passenger ticket. This allowance is the amount of checked baggage that a passenger is entitled to take free and is based on the fare paid. Baggage allowance is based on either a piece concept or weight concept.

Carriers will define their Baggage services as one of the following two types of service:

Baggage Charges

Project Name: HP FARES – ATPCO Tax Product

Overview: Taxes are critical in fare determination of Fare Display, Pricing, Best Buy, Rebook Pricing, Open Pricing, Informative Pricing, and further information and Fare Break Down. The Tax Text Display assists the client with their understanding of the tax information and can be requested by country code, tax code, and by just the first letter of the country. The HP Electronic Fares Services applies to the pricing solutions, the country and carrier taxes and the ATPCO YQ/YR Fuel and Insurance Service Fees. Taxes are applicable for international, domestic travel, or for both.

Overview: Orbit is basically about solving the Problem Tickets which includes finding the route cause of the problem in all areas like taxes, private fares, pricing options (Best buy, fare shop, fare quote), fare display etc.

Involved in recreating and analyzing the problem.

Involved in Problem solving and implementation.
