Mini Project : PC BASED DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM

In this project, the implementation of data acquisition system, which design based on ARM7 platform. This system measures different parameters. The measured quantity can be displayed on LCD of the system and stores data in Hard disk. Whenever any client request for the data, the server Transmitted the data to clients by using TCP protocol. Environment : Keiluvision and Lnux OS.

Project Title : PRESSURE CONTROL OF PAPER MACHINE CALENDER LOADING USING DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEM

My Role : Coordinating and Hardware assembling.

Project Description :In this project the pressure of the calender set-up is controlled, to achieve high degree of smoothness and prevent damage of paper inMs.Seshasayee Paper and Boards Ltd, Erode.In our project, we have usedABB AC 450 DCS as a controller which is used to control the pressure ofcalender in the paper machine. The pressure of the calenderis measured by pressure transmitter and the output signal of pressure transmitter is converted in to an equivalent digital signal that can be read by the DCS for performing the control action. Depending on control signal the position of calender is adjusted for proper smoothening of paper.

Achievements

Secured First Prize in paper presentation on “Detection of Beetles in Coconut Tree Using Acoustic Emission Technique” in Tech Track’12 on 6th and 7th September 2012 at Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur.

Attended a workshop on “DCS and PLC overview” conducted by Yokogawa India Ltd at Dr.Mahalingam college of Engineering and Technology from 12.08.2012 to 16.08.2012.

Won First prize in Dance Competition conducted by P.S.G Institute of Management held on 17th& 18th of February 2012.

Won First prize in Dance Competition conducted by “Inainthakaigal” at Park College of Engineering and Technology.

Won First prize in Dance Competition conducted by “The Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Institute of Technology on 06-10-2013.
