This included installation and maintenance of dental practice software, dental imaging software, MS SQL Server, including backup, recovery, and user training. Tasks included server installation, database creation, maintenance, trouble shooting and product support for SQL Server and Replication Server. Wrote Perl scripts to track server status and maintain databases. Wrote Korn shell scripts to access/manage 60+ SQL Servers and 4+ Replication Servers. Assisted developers in debugging stored procedures and C programs. Used Platinum ERWin to do logical/physical database design.

Oct 1995 – June 1998. For Citibank (New York), database administrator for the Citibank Derivative Systems development group. Tasks included server installation, database creation, maintenance and trouble shooting. Developed scripts/utilities that were used to monitor and administer database systems. Was secondary DBA backup to Production systems and also installed and tested the latest Sybase software before it was released for use in CDS. Tasks also included installing, monitoring and trouble-shooting Sybase replication server. Installed and maintained Apache Web server using CGI scripts to allow user related utilities. Wrote Korn shell scripts to manage/configure 40+ SQL Servers and 12+ Replication Servers. Assisted developers in debugging C++ (Unix) programs that accessed the database.

Wrote Bourne shell scripting and C to replicate between servers and for payroll data transfer.

May 1994 – Oct 1994. For Goldman Sachs and Company, System Analyst/Programmer and Database Analyst for the Audit Confirm System. Tasks included optimizing database access and developing software as required for the project, design and creation of tables, indexes, procedures, granting access rights and optimizing database design for maximum throughput. Used TeleUse with C/Motif to write programs used in the Audit Confirms System and wrote stored procedures triggers for the system.
