PROJECT Senior Detail Design Project: Member of a 5-person team.

EXPERIENCE Redesigned and used CATIA to 3D model a Trent 1000 High-Bypass Turbofan engine’s combustion chamber and increased efficiency by 5% using an experimental and prototype flow control method that induces a swirl into the fuel-air mixture within the chamber using modified fuel injectors.

Airplane Stability Project: Member of a 5-person team.

Calculated static stability and control derivatives and eigenvalues using MATLAB and modeled the state-space for the NASA Orbiter in Simulink in order to meet the requirements needed to be stable and to fly in a FlightGear simulation.

Preliminary Design Project: Member of a 4-person team.

Performed a complete cycle analysis of a low-bypass turbo-fan engine with varying bypass ratios using AEDsys software and collected the data to choose the best combination that met the deliverables set by the professor then created a presentation of the results with my team using Microsoft PowerPoint to present to the class.

Heat Transfer Project: Individual project.

Calculated the temperature distribution throughout a fin using the finite difference method with MATLAB and then calculated the same distribution using a finite element numerical method with ANSYS software then wrote a technical report on the data collected and presented it.
