Project: Party Matching Algorithm/Party resolution

Technologies Used: Java, J2EE, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle PL/SQL, JSP, JavaScript, JBoss, ANT, SVN, JIRA.

Project Description:

During the development of insurance software for Alberta Blue Cross, I was assigned task of generating party matching algorithm. I needed to create and maintain incoming party profiles. The goal was to determine potential matches for the party represented by incoming profile. The algorithm took input of an incoming party record and returned either no match or matching party (or parties) in record time with great accuracy.

The algorithm was applied to profiles when they were created or updated in the insurance software. Algorithm conducted search against all parties. Individuals were matched against individuals and organizations against other organizations. The matching algorithm produced quantitative result, a value for the parties found that was then compared to threshold established by business which identified result as sure-match, potential-match and non-match.I contributed to the process which was used to compare the matching data elements of the incoming record to the candidate’s records, assign the weight when match was found. There were processes like normalizing the incoming record, selecting the candidate records for incoming record, assigning weights to candidates, fine tuning the weights and determining matches and returning results.

•Developed core business services to implement complex business rules

•Developed extensive set of unit test cases based on use cases designed by business analysts.
