I Develop a Human Terrain Collection Plan and I am the Primary Collector of human terrain data collected from supported units. I analyze unclassified and classified socio-cultural data. As Senior Security Coordinator for a Road Construction project in Afghanistan, Eastern Sector. I supervised the operations of the road project that extended for 123 KLM, along the Jalalabad River. I supervise the operations of 1000 Afghan Security personnel and 25 international Security Personnel. AS the Senior Security Coordinator I lead all aspects and functions of the teams to ensure mission accomplishment, in a safe and timely manner. I arranged the training, scheduling and facilities for the security personnel. I was responsible for hiring local staff for Interpreters, office and translation staff, to include the interviews, background checks and training required for their position.
I was responsible for hiring local Afghan Police for Guard and Escort duties of international engineers. I would have to meet with Ministry of Interior Officials to coordinate the personnel to work on the project. This would in tale meeting with the local, district and regional Police Commanders to get Qualified Police Officers to work the Project.
Coordinate the escorts for Management personnel to and from work sites and Meetings in cities and towns along project route. This would mean I needed to check with the Local Police, Military and other security organizations to gather information on the current security situation I the areas. Coordinate the operations of 9 Ghurka’s and 4 Internationals for the Close Protection assignments of the International Engineers. I would review the mission at hand and then decide which security personnel would go on the mission. Also plan the safest route possible, based on the information I would gather from security briefings and information I received from Military, Police and other security sources. I was responsible to Liaison with local Police, Military, (Colonels and above) and Religious leaders in area of operations. We would schedule meetings for all involved and then we would exchange pertinent information. I Liaison with American Military and NATO Security Forces, Senior Officers, Majors and Colonels in reference to security, operations and movement of insurgents through area of operations. I managed the operation of a fleet of 200 vehicles for use on the project and managed the operations of three (3) camps along road project. I would have to visit all camps and review their operations and facilities. I developed plans for and assess of problem areas or potential problem areas. I Coordinated and planned evacuation plans and Medivac plans for all three camps. I filed and briefed daily, weekly and monthly reports on incidents, meetings and operations of the project to the American Embassy and to all Military leaders in the area of Operations.
