Engineering Projects:
“Ethylene Plant” Project Manager (UCLA Senior Project)
Led a team of 15 UCLA chemical engineering students in the design, optimization, validation and scale-up of an economical, safe and environmentally friendly ethylene plant. This required assembling and tasking the team, detail planning the 15-week project to ensure on-time completion, integrating 5 separate process flow diagrams using Pro/II, researching, analyzing and selecting the most feasible site, and generating a business case including a 10-year cash flow analysis.
“BackMeUp” Project Manager (UCLA Junior Project)
Led a team of 5 UCLA students, with diverse engineering backgrounds, in the design and development of an innovative vehicle backup camera. This included the integration of mechanical, electrical, and computer science engineering, and appropriate cash flow analysis, leading to a successful Conceptual Design Review.
Awarded most feasible project.
“NASA Great Moonbuggy Race” (High School Engineering Project)
Designed, constructed, tested and raced a vehicle that solved a required set of problems, including speed, strength, light-weight, collapsible into a 4’x4’x4’ cube, navigation, human powered by 2 drivers, and quick set-up, on a very limited budget. Results: 2nd of 72 international teams, fastest course time, and awarded Best Design, Featherweight, Rookie of the Year, and Best Report.
