Professional accomplishments
Responsible for managing and implementing the infrastructure upgrade of the campus data infrastructure which replaced an Enterasys network core with a Cisco Gigabit Ethernet core implemented on a CISCO 4507R core switch. Increased resource efficiency by virtualizing core infrastructure computing via VMWare. Also, implemented a new VOIP telephone system, and access & control systems at Paul Quinn College. Migrated legacy Exchange 2010 environment to Office 365 hosted solution.
Member of SUNO’s hurricane Katrina Recovery Operations Team. This team oversaw the rebuilding of SUNO’s IT infrastructure which includes the university’s voice, data, and security systems. The recovery solution consisted of interconnecting a temporary trailer and modular building community which consisted of over 300 residential living units for faculty/staff and students, 45 temporary office and classroom spaces and provide access to over 200 personal computers. The services were provided to the temporary community via fiber optic, wired, and wireless connectivity using Cisco data and IP telephony equipment. Provided automated access control and digital video surveillance systems management, and facilitated data connectivity of SUNO’s IT assets to remote sites via satellite connectivity. Also, served as point of contact for multi-agency emergency recovery teams which included the U.S. Army Core of Engineers, FEMA, SUNO, State of Louisiana Office of Telecommunications Management, and various vendors of infrastructure equipment and services.
Responsible for the success of campus-wide upgrade of voice/data infrastructures which included the installation on new category 6 cable, a new multimode fiber optic cable plant, and a new Avaya PBX and voicemail system at Southern University at New Orleans.
Involved in the upgrade of campus data infrastructure which replaced an IBM ATM network core with a Gigabit Ethernet core implemented on a CISCO 6509 core switch at Southern University at New Orleans.
Streamlined the process of accessing multiple Novell Network trees for Southern University at New Orleans by consolidating network trees with no downtime.
