Sirs,
As indicated in the attached resume I am retirement age. However, I am interested in continuing with productive work. Thus while this is in response to an advertised full time position, I would like to be considered for contract work or project to project work without obligation on either party to continue once each contract period or project is complete.
I have considerable experience in leading teams for projects for various objectives. Gathering data, preparing reports, designing Instrumentation and Control Systems were important in my career. Previous employment included two Engineering firms specializing in electrical generation and refining, and employment with a major petroleum company. Duration with each of these companies was 15-20 years. After graduating college with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering I served in the US Army, and as a 1st LT served one tour in Viet Nam.
I am a registered Professional Engineer – Texas- 34524 Thank you for your consideration.

Led the I&C Team for the Godawari Green Energy project consisting of a 480 solar parabolic mirror collector trough field, heat transfer systems, steam turbine generator, and all balance of plant systems and facilities required for plant operation. This project is a part of the Government- Sponsored Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. The Godawari Solar Project was completed and placed in service in May of 2013 and provides 122,000 MWh of power to the national grid of India annually. The control system is a Rockwell DCS. Florida Power and Light Solar Addition-Department Manager and Sr. I&C Design Engineer Led the I&C team designing a Hybrid Concentrated Solar Power facility, consisting of 960 solar parabolic mirror collector trough field covering 500 acres. The facility is the first hybrid facility in the world to connect a solar facility to an existing combined-cycle power plant, providing 75 megawatts of solar thermal capacity in an innovative way that directly displaces fossil fuel usage. Plant came online the fourth quarter of 2010 - under budget and ahead of schedule. Selected as “Solar Power Project of the Year”. Responsibilities included personnel and activity assignments. Design and design review of all the Emerson Ovation DCS work for the solar addition to the FPL Martin 8 power plant providing steam for 4 existing HRSGs to supplement steam for electrical production.
Nevada Solar One - Department Manager and Sr. I&C Design Engineer A solar powered (70 mega-watt) generating station consisting of a 400 acre mirror array field, steam generators, one steam turbine generator, associated piping, cooling tower, power distribution system and switchyard. Completion date was the third quarter of 2007. Responsible for Emerson Ovation DCS selection, control logic, operator interface graphic design, instrument selection, start up and tuning of the control system.
Bosque Power LLC – Department Manager and Lead I&C Engineer The project was expansion of the Bosque County Generating Plant Laguna Park, Texas and involved the conversion of two existing simple-cycle combustion turbine units into a (2x1) combined cycle configuration. The conversion increased the nominal output of the Bosque Plant from 546 MW to 770 MW. Responsible for Emerson DCS control system design and selection, software design and programming, instrumentation and control valve selection, and start up and tuning. The plant addition included 2 new HRSGs and one new Steam Turbine Generator adding approximately 240 MW capability to the plant. The HRSG addition included duct burner control design. Nevada Power Sunrise Plant – Department Manager and Lead I&C Engineer Responsible for control system integration and installation design for one 100MW gas fired boiler and a steam turbine generator and common support equipment. Provided support for installation of an Emerson Ovation DCS.
Western Farmers Electric Cooperative – Lead I&C and Electrical Engineer Responsible for Emerson Ovation DCS integration and installation design. Control was for three 100MW GE gas turbine/steam turbine generators and common support equipment. Heard 3
